The following rules and regulations are established to ensure that all students uphold the institution’s standards of conduct, participate effectively in academic programs, and contribute positively to campus life.

📚 Academic Regulations

  •   Every student must attend all classes, workshops, and training sessions as per the academic calendar.
  •   A minimum of 85% attendance in each semester is mandatory to appear for the university examinations.
  •  Students must submit assignments, records, teaching plans, and practicals within the prescribed deadlines
  •  Internal assessments and unit tests are compulsory and contribute to final evaluation.
  •  Use of mobile phones during class hours is strictly prohibited unless permitted for academic purposes.

🧑‍🎓 Behavioral Guidelines

  •   Students are expected to maintain discipline and decorum within the campus at all times.
  •   Respect towards faculty, staff, and fellow students is mandatory. Misbehavior will attract strict disciplinary action.
  •   Any form of ragging, harassment, or bullying is strictly prohibited and punishable as per UGC and government rules.
  •   Students must rise and greet the faculty when they enter or leave the classroom.
  •   No student should leave the class or enter another class without prior permission from the teacher.

🏛️ Campus Conduct:

  •   Loitering in corridors and unnecessary noise during class hours are not allowed.
  •   Damage to college property (furniture, lab equipment, books, etc.) will result in fines or replacement charges.
  •   Lights and fans must be switched off when leaving the classroom
  •   Stealing, tampering, or misuse of college assets will result in suspension or expulsion.
  •   Vehicles must be parked only in the designated areas.

🔁 Withdrawal Policy

At Muthukaruppan Memorial College of Education, we understand that unforeseen circumstances may compel a student to withdraw from the course. While we encourage continuity and course completion, the following withdrawal policies ensure a fair and clear process for students who may need to discontinue their studies.

  • 📋 Application for Withdrawal
    • Any student wishing to withdraw from the B.Ed. programme must submit a written application addressed to the Principal, clearly stating the reason for withdrawal.
    • The application must be signed by the student and countersigned by their parent or guardian.
    • The college reserves the right to verify the stated reasons and request supporting documentation if needed.
  • ⏰ Timeframe for Withdrawal
    • Students seeking withdrawal must apply before the completion of the first semester to avoid complications related to academic records and university enrollments.
    • Withdrawal requests made after university registration or examination fees are paid may be subject to further procedural guidelines set by Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University (TNTEU).
  • 💰 Fee Refund Policy
    • No refund of tuition or admission fees will be granted after the student has been officially admitted and attended classes.
    • Fees once paid are non-transferable and non-refundable under any circumstance, including medical grounds or personal inconvenience.
    • In case of withdrawal before the course commencement, partial refund (excluding processing fees) may be considered solely at the discretion of the management.
  • 🧾 Clearance Certificate Requirement

    Before leaving the institution, the student must:

    • Settle all dues with the library, hostel, and finance department
    • Return any borrowed books, materials, or lab items
    • In case of withdrawal before the course commencement, partial refund (excluding processing fees) may be considered solely at the discretion of the management.
    • Obtain a No Dues Certificate from relevant departments
    • Submit the same to the college office to receive Transfer Certificate (TC) or Conduct Certificate
  • 📜 Readmission Policy
    • Students who discontinue due to health or personal reasons may seek readmission within two academic years.
    • Such students must reapply and pay the full fees applicable to fresh admissions.
    • Readmission is subject to approval by the management and TNTEU norms.
  • ⚠️ Cancellation by the College

    The college reserves the right to cancel a student’s admission under the following circumstances:

  • All students must comply with the rules and regulations related to attendance, examinations, fees, library use, and hostel stay.
  • Every student is expected to uphold the dignity of the institution through proper behavior, respectful communication, and professional attitude at all times.
  • Students must wear modest, neat, and appropriate attire inside the campus.

🚭 Prohibited Behavior

  • Smoking, consumption of alcohol, or use of any narcotic substance within the college premises is strictly forbidden and will lead to immediate suspension.
  • Writing on walls, defacing college property, damaging furniture, or littering classrooms and corridors is strictly prohibited.
  • Engaging in any form of ragging, bullying, or harassment will result in disciplinary action including rustication, as per UGC and Government guidelines.

📚 Classroom Decorum

  • Students must attend all classes punctually and maintain strict silence during lectures.
  • When a faculty member enters the classroom, students must stand in respect and remain standing until permitted to sit.
  • Leaving the classroom without the lecturer’s permission or disturbing the class in any form is considered misconduct.
  • No student shall call or interrupt another student from a class without prior permission from the faculty in charge.
